Once again, I will be conducting my BackPack giveaway. Those in need should submit their requests beginning mid uly. I ask only one thing. If you have already received backpacks in the previous year, please allow others to receive them. I will post the dates for sign-up and pick-up as the time gets closer.
Thank you,
Nancy

Again this year, I am giving backpacks to children whose families are facing difficulties financially. So far, I have given away 8. I decided to give them to local families who are refered to me by caretakers, or to those families who I see are in need.
Last year, I hade 40 people request them, and only 5 picked them up.

I will now be taking requests for backpacks for this year. Only request if you are really in need of help, and if you will pick up on the distribution day. I had way too many no-shows.
Please include child's full name, age, boy or girl, grade, and name of parent picking up. Requests will be filled for children grades K-12.
I will post date and time of distribution in the near future.
Thank you

I have decided to make my bake-sale a dual benefit. It will not only be for the Backpack Project, but also for a little 4 year old girl with Type 1 Diabetes. Her condition has been a huge challenge, due to the fact that her readings fluctuate so severely, her parents have to wake several times a night to check that she is not in danger of going into a diabetic coma or shock.
Her parents are trying to get her a service dog that can alert them if there is a problem, or it can also call 911 if a grown-up is not available. These dogs are so well trained, ti would be an asset for this little girl and piece of mind for her parents.
If you can, please support these causes. With this sale, I will be able to reach many children. The bake-sale is Saturday August 6th from 9-4pm, at Redner's Mkt. in Pittston Township.

If anyone would like to donate any baked goods for this, it would be greatly appreciated. I will post the exact date ASAP.

Today I contacted The Ellen Show in hopes of getting my son's story told, and maybe getting help with my Backpack Project of the ground for this year. Many thanks to the woman who gave me her address. Thank you so much.
I will keep everyone informed if I get a response.
Sincerely:
Nancy

Please, if you received one last year, allow for others to receive backpacks. There wil be a limit of 50 given away, as I do this on a limited income.
If there is anyone who would like to donate gently used or new backpacks or supplies, you can contact me through this site. It will be greatly appreciated.

My son, who was a victim of bullying, has volunteered as an EMT to go and help the victims of Alabama, after the tornados. Even though he went through all the heartbreak of being bullied, it has never changed who he is or wants to be.
So, to all victims of peer abuse, keep your heads up and your minds focused on your dreams. Good things will come to you. Never let your bullies dictate your life. You can do great things.

In the next few months, I will be planning some projects to raise funds for S.P.O.T. I need to get more journals to have on hand for children and teens who are being bullied. Also, I like to make up add other little surprises with the journals to make these kids feel better, and bring smiles to their faces.
If you have any ideas or suggestions, please send them my way. Also, if you would like to help with group activities, contact me here on my site, in the guestbook section, or at Madmomma479@yahoo.com .
Have a great weekend and stay safe.
Thank you;

There weren't many kids at the Ronald McDonald House to the Easter Project, so I donated the project supplies to the 3rd floor North floor for the kids in the A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children to do. I hope they enjoy it.
